Skateboard parks filled with adolescent boys seem ubiquitous. I witnessed some of the tribal behavior on a not-yet-too-hot Saturday in May, as the small group took turns going down the halfpipe and filming each other's run. I couldn't tell from where I sat if they were watching the playback to learn about technique or just see what looked cool, although I'm guessing it was the latter. There were plenty of wipeouts, yet no jeers when they occured. Just an atmosphere of respect for trying to do something difficult.
