A Great Horned Owl lived high in the pine trees in the neighborhood over from mine, and I discovered it on one of my early morning summer strolls.  High up in the inner branches of an 80-foot tree, the owl sat and observed (or ignored) all who passed by. I watched patiently and photographed this one for over 15 minutes, catching him in a variety of poses before it closed its eyes and drifted off to sleep.
